Re: The Frankenbuggy
Sabula Tech has a YZ10 Works body and undertray that look like a promising option for this chassis.
. .
The undertray is a little tight near the front of the chass plate but I think some light trimming willing take care of that.
. .
Very pleased with this body option and it's reasonable pricing.

Re: The Frankenbuggy
The Funco 2 seater body actually also fits the chassis well, bit there isn't an undertray that works with it.

Re: The Frankenbuggy
This laydown gearbox is the configuration that I originally wanted to use for this build. It's a little too late to incorporate now but will probably find it's way into a future project.

Re: The Frankenbuggy
Getting back to the buggy, the chassis plate just needed some trimming for the undertray to fit. After trimming, it's back to reassembly.

Re: The Frankenbuggy
Going back together pretty well. Also time to add the front control links so I can sort the steering setup out better.

Re: The Frankenbuggy
Need to make a minor tweak to the ball link positions for the bellcrank connecting link. The steering tie rods clear the bulkhead fine be the conning link makes contact that's an easy fix.

Re: The Frankenbuggy
I think this is the electronics layout that I want. I considered mounting the servo across instead of front to back, but the layout otherwise stays similar and I need a new bellcrank setup to make that work. I also considered mounting the receiver on top of the servo to get it a little farther from the brushless ESC, but not sure if that results in noise/interference from the servo.

Re: The Frankenbuggy
Electronics are all mounted. I did forget the antenna tube mount though. I'll probably make a new hold down strap for the receiver and incorporate the antenna mount into that.
I used an Associated 7138 servo saver and with a single spring clip it seemed sloppy so I installed both the small and medium spring clips. I'm assuming it's meant to be done that way.
Next up is bodywork trimming so I can start work on the body mounts. I'm also considering a front anti-sway bar. It seems like a good idea for this type of front suspension setup.

Re: The Frankenbuggy
The YZ10 Works body overall is a pretty good fit. I've got a good area in the front for a body mount but will have to think about the rear a little. I want to make sure I keep the ability to flip the gearbox to the rear motor setup too. I also need to think about the undertray. It will have Velcro to hold to the sides of the body, but I'm not sure if something else should be done to secure it to the chassis. If so, then maybe I actually don't need any body mounts added. And then there's the 'To wing or not to wing' question. I think this body could work either way and I'm not currently setup for a wing. Maybe a body fin at the back would look good.

I had a problem. I sought out professional help. Things are now starting to come together, but it's a process...

Re: The Frankenbuggy
Still waiting for the wing and undertray, but the end is near.
Yes, it is an SS unit. I'm not positive on the motor yet. My choices are a Novak 5800, 4300, 13.5, 17.5, a Reedy Neo1 13.5 and new Reedy 13.5. I think there's a 10.5 in there somewhere too.

Just to give a little more on the direction this is going. I am typically a bit more of a Sid than an Andy though.

Re: The Frankenbuggy
Inching toward completion. Wing tube brackets have been added.
