Help!

Ok guys I need some help. I’m currently trying to straighten up a crawler for the ol lady to have something to play with Anyhow I’m looking for the clamps that go around the arms that the shocks connect to. I’ve searched everything I can think of looking for them. What are they called, and where do I find them? I really want aluminum ones for this build but I’ve also seen guys use what looks like plastic wire loops which I looked for today at three stores and couldn’t find those either If anybody has a link to where I can buy these things or has some they’d part with please let me know.

Look at where the shock meets the trailing arm. No this is not what I’m working on but has what I’m looking for.

This is what I’m actually working on. Whomever put this thing together attached the links and the shocks to the axle itself on both ends. The shocks need to be outboard to allow the servo to mount but when I do that there’s not enough clearance to allow the motor to go into the axle cause it’s hitting the arm. The only way I know to fix it is to mount the shocks on the arm, and yes I know the servo horn is on upside down but it was the only way to mount it. This thing is a complete mess to say the least.

If I understand right, you're looking for shock link mount clamps? If so, CPE sells this kit for plastic ones: https://teamcpe.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=33_157&product_id=2329 If you ever want to buy them yourself, they go by several names such as P-clamps, cable clamps or loop clamps. You'll have to supply your own hardware though.

I tried looking for aluminum clamping link mounts but couldn't find anyone that currently has them in my quick search.

Just be warned that the shock mounts that clamp to the links have a tendency to slide all over the place on them. If you are set on attaching the shocks to the links, I'd either buy new links with built-in shock mounts, or drill a hole through yours. Another word of caution with the hole drill method is it makes the link weak in that area.

Ok what are the links called that the shocks attach to? I really don’t want to put the shocks on the links however whomever put this thing together didn’t have the foresight to think about running it…(well either that or I’m a complete idiot in my old age…) when I solve one issue it creates another…the chassis is very nicely built and power coated…so I’d like to get it up and running

It looks like you might want to run a shorty servo. The picture isn't the greatest but from what I can see that setup would benefit from a shorty servo like a savox 1252.

Those link mounts aren't the greatest. But probably cheaper than a new servo.

Here’s a shot of the servo and such…moving the shock outboard clears the servo but creates issue with getting the motor in it since the link then hits the back of the can…

Use bent suspension links and/or offset ends. It's commonly done.

It doesn't change the geometry unless you change the attachment points.

They are just called 4-link lower shock mounts. As ultra posted Brett at CPE sells the plastic ones. Someone use to sell the aluminum ones as well, was it Southwest Monster Shop I think? I'll look and see if I can find the aluminum ones for you and link ya if I find them
