Getting this away from the "what is it thread"
I may have finally figured out who built these cars. ParDelBolTr Llc.
Edit: Or maybe "Magic Touch" more likely

The original car

Totally stripped to bare chassis

So far-

Chassis with old glue and double sided tape remnants… cleaned
Missing screws… replaced
Dirt caked in all bearings… cleaned
Greasy and dirty diff and thrust bearing… cleaned
Front corner of chassis smashed… repaired
Bent front axle… straightened
Tie rods… replaced
Cracked front wheel and bad front tires… on their way

Still need to address T-bar and cracked graphite axle…

Anybody recognize the axle? Or have an idea how to find a reasonably priced replacement?

Then a body…

Been checking Ebay etc, so far no luck.

That motor pod seems way too narrow. All those spacers on the axle don't seem quite right.

This looks like the rear pod you have.

I agree that the motor mount/axle pod is quite small for a 1/10 scale.
I think, like other early cars, parts weren't as proprietary as today.
The extra axle length past the bearing may have contributed to the broken axle shaft.

But yes, you are also correct, at least the pod is still available @ Parma

The small pod also contributes to why finding the correct axle will be a chore.
The car isn't apparently one of a kind however. viewtopic.php?t=28626

The pod is narrow because it was originally from Parma's 1/12 Euro Panther. The same pod was used on the 1/10 Sprint, Funny Car and Hemi cars but the 1/10 Parma Pro Panther had it's own wider rear pod.

I thought the axle would be the same as the one's used on Bolink, Hyperdrive, and Delta cars but I just measured the ones I have and the section between the diff plate and threaded end are slightly shorter at ~1 1/8".

Your measurement is so close in length to what I have I will double check.

This may require a hub with set screw and a more universal axle?
Looking at the thrust bearing, it appears as though I need at least the 1.25". I could probably have slightly (1/16-1/8") more without any interference.

Are any of your axles close to the same overall length?

Unfortunately mine are either shorter or longer. You might be able to use a RC10L axle, which are about 1 3/8" long, by adding a spacer between the nut and the diff hub.

An IRS axle wouldn't be period correct.

I've never had one in hand so I ain't 100% sure, but I think Trinity EV10 axles were shorter than a 10L, but longer than a HD/Delta axle. They might be the right size, and would look right.

The majority of IRS axles were yellow in color, but if he just wants a cheap axle to get going it might be an option.

His axle looks fairly early as it seems the spur gear hub is machined into the plate instead of being a seperate bearing.

My assumption on the approximate age would be 1985-1989.
Probably should have included this pic to show the rest of the hub/spindle/thrust assembly.

The other spur gear hub, behind the spur gear, is bonded to the axel.
There are no bearings contained within the shown aluminum hub assembly other than the ball diff on one end and thrust on the very end of the axle.
I think this may be what you are referring to.

This is the rear assembly instructions for the Sport Truck.

The #12 item is nylon spacers. The number of spacers used varied with different Goodtime models.

That looks like a Parma Pro Panther 10 hub...which raises the question of why did whoever make your car go with the narrower 1/12 Parma pod if a wider 1/10 pod (w/ ride height adjustment) was also available?

Anyway I'd estimate the age of your car being 1988-89. Prior to '87, 1/10 on-road was either the Bolink class, or converted buggies, and the Vicfor front beam plus Parma hub would have been available in 1988. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if your car turned out to be an early prototype for Art Carbonell's Vicfor pan cars.

The Parma axle is too short.

The thrust side is 15/16" from the spur locating hub to the threads. Axle OAL is 5 5/8".
