Info on this RC10 from RCCA
There's a RC10 paint job that I'd like to replicate that I first saw in the RCCA shootout between the RC10 and the Ultima. I've seen it elsewhere floating around and wondered if it was the same car. Here's some pics:

I first saw it like this in an article about modifying the RC10.

Later it showed up like this in the shootout article with different decals and now sporting orange dyed arms among other hop-ups that were added.

Finally, I caught a possible glimpse of it in a Sanyo ad.
My main question is how to go about replicating the main body color or if anything exist that is close, off the shelf. As a side question, do you think its the same cars in all the pics? I imagine the two from the RCCA articles might be the same car at least. Any thoughts?

Car in the second pic is not the same as the first. Other than the different part colors, and the different wheels, the second car is a graphite chassis and car 1 and 3 both have an alloy chassis.

I saw that too. I have to go digging in my RCCA collection but I think the first car may have evolved into the second car. Steve Pond did the article on the first car in the the first year of RCCA's existence. I thought there was a later article about adding a Trinity(?) graphite chassis but I might not have the issue. Perhaps the body was just reused. The last car in the Sanyo ad has me puzzled as it would have been much later, after the car received its graphite chassis (possibly) or again, it was just a body swap.

Curtis Husting painted a lot of those bodies and were included in some kits. There were more than a few out there back then. Rod has a blue one in the 25 year thread.

And that body you want to replicate will have the same layout as the blue body, just need to change the colors to match your likes.

Curtis Husting more than likely painted those bodies. I have a Sidewinder body with the same colors that came from a guy who worked for AE a long time ago, possibly painted by Curtis. I'll also attach pics of my Curtis painted protech body and wing if you want to duplicate his retro paint scheme.
