I guess that depends upon what your interests are, where you like to drive your RC's and how often you trade. We're not allowed to discuss value here but it looks like the two vehicles are an even trade.
The mini z is RTR and winter is coming so you could run it indoors for the next few months (of course I'm assuming you're in the northern hemisphere).
The MB requires a radio and servo and really isn't suitable for indoor use.
When spring comes, you might wish you'd kept the MB. I don't have mini z but I do have a 1/24 scale Losi short course truck and outside it's like driving an ant - not much fun. I honestly don't know what I would choose.
Sorry, that probably disqualifies me from posting a comment here so I'll shut up now.

Me personally, I wouldn't even have to think about it. MB all day.

Ya I have to agree, I can always buy a Mini z and keep the MB for the summer. Yes I am up here in Canada. So winter is kinda long.

No Doug you make some very valid points mainly driving it outside.

You could stalk the mini z with the MB and then run it over!

My concern with the MB are those hex dogbones that the MB and BF both use. If I was building one, I'd want whatever aftermarket replacement might still be available.

True about the dog bones issue I am also aware of the gearbox self destructing over time. Thus the reason for a possible trade.

Re-re Blackfoot CVD's fix the dogbone issue and the MIP diff handles the gearbox.

Sweet cause mine is a re-re, am I of the correct understanding that MIP makes a very good ball diff ? Is there any others. The MB is completely stock other than full bearings and a HD metal servo.

I believe that Thorp made one as well. It costs twice as much and I don't know if its any better.

The MIP ball diff is superior to the old Thorp and is designed to work with the re-re cvds.
