Re: My original CAT XL - freshly uncovered
Same as me then really. Came and went before I could really drive or knew how to set up a car. I guess I can give my original XL a second go (although saying that I am even worse driver now!)

Re: My original CAT XL - freshly uncovered
Thanks Sprocket. The wheels are Gisom alloys. They came in various fitments and offsets so you have to ensure you have the correct ones. I have a set on my Concept Car also, but the rears have a shallower dish, and as such I have had to use a pair of SRM spacers which have the Schumacher castle fitment in order to make full width at the rear. The ones on the rear of the XL have a deeper dish as at that time they were designed for the rear of the unwidened CAT. They do pop up for sale occasionally, and were a great period rim, particularly in the UK. I recall seeing lots of cars running them during my racing days, which is why I have started collecting them now.

Re: My original CAT XL - freshly uncovered
Very nice. The Schumacher fitment ones are really shallow dish - especially the fronts to make sure the car remains within the 250mm width limit. It always amazes me how light they are.

Re: My original CAT XL - freshly uncovered
To me the front tyres on the RC10 looks like the Schumacher T660 (soft) or the T661 (hard). These are 4 rows of 24 spikes.

Re: My original CAT XL - freshly uncovered
LurkingCAT is exactly right. Quite hard to find full sets of them. The original ‘mini spikes.’ I buy them whenever I see a pair come up for sale. Fronts or rears. I have them on many of my cars you will notice.

Do you have a part number for that?

Re: My original CAT XL - freshly uncovered
I did at one stage, consider painting them to match the bodyshell ….
