Re: Dadio's 3D Printing Stuff
When you live with three dogs it's hard to keep them out of photos ,that's our eldest Frais or full name Fomage Frais , her mum was Bell so she's a baby bell ... Hence the cheese name , master food thief , kitchen raider and comfort seeker .
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Re: Dadio's 3D Printing Stuff
Top arm and top arm mount completed , going up on Shapeways today.

The eagle eyed might spot the bottom of the arm is flat , I just did it to do a nice easy home print , the version on Shapeways will be contoured symmetrically on top and bottom .

Re: Dadio's 3D Printing Stuff
Went back to the drawing board and started to model up the Marui Samurai chassis again , last time I tried the model was so glitchy and messed up with so many adjustments that I gave up in frustration , it really is the most complicated shape I've ever tried to model , still some way to go but here are the teaser shots .

Re: Dadio's 3D Printing Stuff
Piss, Pox and Pestilence
, the Samurai chassis bit me again , made a mistake early on and made the top chassis rails 2mm too narrow, god only knows how , spent half of yesterday trying to sort it but no good, I'm going to have to go right back to nearly the beginning and start over , I am test printing it as it should all fit and if it does not then i can sort out any issues in the next version , this probably represented two solid days work down the tubes

Re: Dadio's 3D Printing Stuff
Well at least the test print went well
a few very minor tweaks needed but it fits so I can now move on knowing that it will fit right next time
Its really crudely printed at 0.28 layer height and only PLA .

In these pictures with the callipers you can see where its too narrow by 2mm, unfortunately this error also impacts on the torsion bar tensioner limiting the max tension so its not just aesthetic

Re: Dadio's 3D Printing Stuff
Took all day but I've fixed the Samurai chassis model , just a little more work and it's time for another test print but this one should be the completed part
