I've just gone back for a second look at the photos and, apart from the dust and rusty fasteners, I'm astounded by the car's excellent overall condition.
Clearly, this car has seen very little use.
I would never try to tell someone what to do with their possessions but if the car were mine, I'd give it a good cleaning, replace the rusty parts, locate the few missing items and set it up for display.
This nice example represents the end of an era; one of the very last gold anno RC10's ever produced in America.
I think you're very fortunate to have this car.
Doug

That rust could be cleaned up by disassembling and the steel parts spending a day or two soaking in CLR. Then some gun bluing and back to being pretty.

Just finishing some preservation on a couple of cars.

Lots of rusty/uneven colored originally blackened steel parts.
I tried linseed oil.
First I cleaned all the steel parts. Time consuming...
Got out my oldest needle nose pliers and my heat gun.
Dipped each piece individually in the oil then heated till it turned dark , then back in the oil to quench.
On to a paper towel to remove excess oil

I had tried with a propane torch but there is no way to gauge the temp, sometimes too hot and sometimes not hot enough.
Anyway, it worked for me and liked the results.

Thanks Doug! Believe it or not but it came with a bunch of spare parts, screw packs, and other various items. I started to clean it last night and the bottom barely has any scratches at all! Ive owned a few of these in the past. Unfortunately Ive sold them all, but I may keep this one for sure!
