Vintage Electronics in a Modern Kit: What's going on here?
Browsing TLR's website to get ideas, I happened across this image, and was wondering what was going on with the very vintage electrics.

This was on TLR's page for the 22 5.0 Elite DC kit, due in September.

Is this a new trend? Someone playing around with marketing materials? Or am I late to the party, having not paid much attention to kits made after 1995?

Not gonna lie: the matched cells made me immediately jump to Trinity's website. Heh!juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 3:48 pm Might be that whoever built the car actually had taste.
Was wondering if it was an oddly stacked 6 cell pack at first.

Ugh. And please excuse my spelling error in the thread title. Guess I got so excited I reverted to, I don't know, German pronunciations?

"Wintage" made me think of Mr. Chekov in Star Trek.

It's the return of brushed motor power! TLR and Yokomo leading the charge!

Think it could be a Brian Kinwald tribute, with that body?

Re: Vintage Electronics in a Modern Kit: What's going on here?
It is a trend for some of us ..... Kidagain has done some great vintage looking modern electronics.
I even made some vintage packaging for this one, complete with capacitors and schottky diode....

Re: Vintage Electronics in a Modern Kit: What's going on here?
Yokomo and Tamiya should talk more...

Yokomo has a LiPo compatible ESC but only for brushed motors, where Tamiya has the TBLE-02 ESC that is in most of their re-re's which is brushed/sensored brushless compatible but no LiPo cutoff...

That is where the new TBLE-04S comes in, replacing the 02.
