Andys arms shock setup changes

Post by Medved »

Evening all. I have upgraded my 6-gear rc10 to the andys wide arm setup, still using the small shocks.

I am running 35wt oil and A silver short spring with the kit piston. I am running the standard shock tower (one position)

The problem is that the shocks seems to be much softer now and they collapse quicker than when they were the short arm version.

I'm guessingthis because of the increase of the arm /lever which then is applying the force differently.

Should I run a thicker oil or cut down a blue spring to counter act this? Suggestions please

I would use thicker oil and/or a heavier piston. RC10 pistons are 1-3, lightest to heaviest.

I have a car with 0.56 shocks and Andy's arms. It has silver springs, #2 pistons, and 30 weight oil. I wouldn't use it on big jumps but it seems fine for moderate terrain. Switching to B4 style spring locators takes out a lot of preload, allowing you to use full length springs with the short shocks.
