Back in the mid 80's, for a birthday, my father bought a Rock Buster from our local hobby shop. I remember him assembling it on my grandmothers kitchen table. Had a ton of fun with it as a kid until a neighbor brought home an RC10, lol.
Now in my 40's, I started toying around in the hobby again. And after doing some research I found that the Rock Buster and Roadrunner were basically the same thing. Well, after wasting countless hours on Ebay I found a new Roadrunner kit. Ordered some Rock Buster decals from MCI racing. (Which were great, btw) Threw in a Spektrum ESC/Receiver combo to work with my DX5C, instead of an extra servo and the MSC it came with. I did have to buy new front and rear tires from a Tamiya Hornet. Time took it's toll on the original rubber resulting in them tearing as I tried to install the wheels. I knew the Rock Buster/Roadrunner was a Hornet/Grasshopper clone, but was surprised when the new Hornet tires had the exact same script as the oldies. I decided on a box art part scheme compared to the blue and gray my dad used back in the day. I'd say she's an 8 out of 10 but will stay that way as I'm going to keep her on a shelf.
