Screw pitch?

Hello All, I was wondering if someone could tell me what screw pitch/size Losi cars and buggies use? I know Kyosho's use m3 screws with a .05 pitch. My Kyosho m3 and m4 screws won't thread in.

Vintage losi used 4-40 and 8-32 screws, and 4-40 and 10-32 nuts.

That’s a pretty new rig. I would consult the manual. Most of what we get here is old school.

Thanks, I'm using the center diff/motor mount for a brushless conversion. Good idea, I'll download the manual.

So I found some pinions in the 50% off box at the LHS. They are hard ano Kyosho. Question is what pitch are they? I have a 19 tooth 48 pitch pinion, which I assume is US 48 pitch (p/n W0119). There are several others I picked up, but they do not say...

Is this something you can tell by looking or at least comparing them?

The spur & pinion I've installed in OptiMutt--with Robinson Racing spurs--uses a pinion with tiny teeth shown on the left. To the right is something else, and in the middle is...

you can actually measure the pitch by measuring between teeth pretty easily as well. but you need to measure at the root of the tooth.

32 pitch, well, 32 teeth to 1 inch, so 1/32 between teeth. this is for diametrical pitch gears.

Was there ever a 64 pitch steath setup??? i think i may have found one

oh yeah, did you know that thorp also made a set of 64 pitch gears for the gt trans? i have never seen them but i have a parst list some where that has them on. i believe they had aluminum diff gears.

Does anyone know where I might be able to find a 48 pitch spur gear for an old Optima. I don't know much about this car, but I heard that it needs a double spur gear and that it needs to be 48 pitch. Any help would be great.

Didn't Robinson make a 64 pitch internal gear set for the Stealth trans? I think father had a set in his carpet oval car. What was the final drive ratio with the 64 pitch gears??

Should be smoother but I can't say how much of a benefit the Thorp 64p gears actually produced. Main reason for using 64p gears is you can fine tune gear ratios...but that doesn't really come into play with the gears inside the transmission, only...

Can anyone tell me what the gear pitch is on a stealth transmission? I’m converting a Championship Edition to brushless, and wanting to get a few pinion gears to try out. Thanks for any info.
