Is the fresh engine 302, or does it have added inches?

It's a 306 as well. I'm slowly collecting parts for a stroker Windsor, very slowly.

Luckily, it was at idle when the lifter came apart. I was able to save the rotating assembly.

Of course junkyard 351 blocks can be had for quite cheap. 347 and 408 stroker kits are in the same ballpark price wise (machining cost is the same), but the 408 is in a different league than a 347. And there's the added bonus of having a superior factory block. Not sure what your plans are, just thought it can't hurt to mention.

Most likely, a 408. And I'm well aware of the differences in block strength, which would be my primary reason for going to a Windsor.

Oddly enough, my previous block showed no signs of cap walk, despite the nitrous and high rpm.

Not happening. Other than looks, there is no reason to build a Clevor anymore.

Besides, my Edelbrock heads and the bottle are capable of making more power than the Windsor block can handle.


At any rate, faster cars aren't as much fun to me. Quick, budget cars are more enjoyable. I'm taking about the kind that you don't really care if you break it.

So agree with this. To me a 450whp, 11.3 et @ 128mph n/a car (avatar) is more enjoyable than, for example, my good friend's 760whp turbo Supra.

And thats why I always cut stringers and use center supports. They aren't as attractive but are sooooooo much stronger.

Cutting stringers for stairs that long would be time consuming though.

42 degree hillside, it left a lot of challenges. I would have done stringers but then I would have had to post hole dig 2x as many anchors in the hillside and pour 2x the concrete. A set of supports under the stairs for the stringers, and a set of concrete supports for the handrail.

I wanted to do stringers. I just didn’t want to dig anymore. I’ve moved 200 yards of dirt, rock, and potting soil easy to make the levels and the retaining walls.

Those are car destroyers. I’ve seen videos of hail that big. You might as well send the car to the scrap yard after a hail storm that big
