If it's not Barbie I'm going to be deeply disappointed

Re: The Pinkomo 870c with WASP transmission
I have been trial-fitting my black 870c bodyshell from my 1990 season, and my yz10 shell which i ran in 1991 to see which shape prefer, and i think the white yz10 shell really suits this build. I have mag shots of this shell from the Radio Race Car Series and as such it means quite a bit to me for sentimental reasons.
I have sourced a new yz10 shell so will now get my battle-scarred white shell recreated, thus keeping the original for my 1991 season original race car.

That white body looks really good , totally agree , needs a Barbie and Ken windscreen sticker though

Re: The Pinkomo 870c with WASP transmission
Bodyshell has been trimmed and gone off for paint. As per most of my other cars and my original race cars the undertray and central wing portion will remain clear. Once it is back I will sticker it up and get some pics up of it on the car.
In the meantime I have managed to add a few more goodies.... having finally managed to track down an elusive pair of matching white SRM steering hubs to match the rears (they are identical but the fronts have threaded inserts), as well as a pair of ballraced Speed Model Accessories Racing C-hub carriers. They look kinda cool with the rest of the white parts
Also, unbeknownst to me I have also discovered that included in the bag of WASP XL transmission bits were a couple of optional extra 'front overdrive' sprockets, which have 9 teeth instead of the standard 8. One is fitted to the car, and there is another new spare along with a used 8 tooth version. Cool discovery as I didn't even know they existed let alone were sat in my bag of bits!

Re: The Pinkomo 870c with WASP transmission
Quick look at the new shell which is a replica of my orginal white racing shell from around 1989. I have gone for many of the original decals i used, including those from Penn Models who used to provide me with hop-up parts, plus a few additional ones to suit the pink nature of the car(!)
I will get some better pics outside in the sunlight once the undertray and electrics are fitted.

Re: The Pinkomo 870c with WASP transmission
Whilst looking through some old UK mags for nothing in particular I stumbled across some advertising info on the Euro Composite floro chassis I have used on this build. Up until this point I had found absolutely nothing. It turns out my local model shop - Penn Models - were the UK importer of Euro Composite and they sold this very set as you can see on this Aug '91 advert. The dating is quite interesting as this pretty much coincides with the Works '91 UK launch and possibly suggests that this set was therefore relatively short-lived. The price would have been pretty eye-watering for 1991 too i imagine!
Great to have some info on the chassis anyway - i bet the floro yellow ones looked pretty striking also. Would love to find one.

Re: The Pinkomo 870c with WASP transmission
I have also managed to sort out a suitable ESC for this build, having been fortunate enough to uncover a pink Tekin, which as many of you will know is not an easy find! It has been rewired and now has a bank of chunky pink Parma wires to match the rest of the car

Things get wet and slippery over in the UK!!! (....there is definitely a muddy track joke here somewhere...)

I think Kyosho makes neon pink tiewraps. You better use those.
