Toys R Us r/c display case pic?
Does anyone happen to have a pic of the r/c display case from Toys R Us circa 87-88? I'm shocked that I couldn't easily find something on Google. I tried several different searches. I used to drool over it before I knew of true hobby grade cars.

Man I was hoping this thread contained a picture. I could’ve swore and I’ve told people for years, that I remember seeing a Tamiya Blackfoot in this case you’re talking about.

Then after I got into "hobby grade" cars (*cough* [FX10]), I was cruising thru Toys R Us looking for a particular MadBallz or maybe a Bionic 6 action figure and I would always check out the RC case as I still thought they were pretty sweet and I liked to see what was in there as the inventory changed now and then and just being at Toys R Us back then was a big deal....anyhow....I too vaguely remember seeing a Blackfoot and thinking, "huh, maybe the giraffe people have gone somewhat legit with their RC selection." So, yeah...I couldn't testify under oath on that but it could have been the case. Maybe it was a knock-off clone or something but I remember that.
Hope you're doin' something fun.

My first RC was a Nikko Dictator from Toys R Us, circa that era. I broke it within a couple of hours, but didn't want to tell my parents I broke it, so just told them it stopped working. We returned it and drove by the hobby store and bought an FX-10 and JR Propo Tx.
I worked at Toys R Us as the cart kid during Christmas season when I was about 16 yo. 30 years later, that damn song still gives me nightmares!

The Hawg is the closest thing I could find to a Blackfoot.

I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

There’s a very very good possibility I could be mistaken. Our family didn’t even frequent the big chain Toys R Us very much. We had a smaller local toys store we typically went to and really only went there for birthdays and Christmas. But maybe one day.......... someone is going to whip out that picture and in the case will be a Blackfoot and I’ll say “ha!! Told you so”

I remember a Blackfoot too, but I bet it is this we remember. Hard to believe it's so hard to find a pic of an actual display case.

We had a Toys'r'us four suburbs away in Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia. I remember looking in the display case. No photos though. The only hobby grade buggy I remember seeing was a Tamiya Super G Grasshopper around 1995/6.
