My entire RC Hobby life has been focused and revolved around Tamiyas. The Tamiya Astute was my first RC, followed by an Egress, Monster racer, and finishing up with a Too Force. That's was it, shortly after the Top Force I discovered girls real cars, college, and the Marine Corps.
After one deployment I purchased a 3.3 TMaxx. It's been down hill since! Shortly following the purchase of the Tmaxx I had my parents send me my old Tamiyas.
They got restored, ran in the back yard and occasional classic race, and more Taniyas found their way to me.
I'm not sure what attracted me to them, I always gravitated toward Tamiya's "race" oriented cars but I never won a race I did ok. But the RC10s and mids of the world always had the best of me.
Last year while surfing the local want adds I found a RC10, that I wasn't looking for. Knowing nothing about the models I paid $100 for it. I lucked out. It was a low miles Team car with the black world's arms, and tires that were near perfect.
After much research I realized there wasn't much difference between the team car and the world's. I rebuilt the car with a world's chassis and associated hardware. And now I knew why the RC10s always kicked my Astutes but. Its lighter, has better steering, and was stronger. The Astute is good the RC10. Well you all know.
I still run the Astute in vintage events, but the RC10 is now my go to and does ok against even the newer stuff. Here she is. I'll post the build.
....I've got a RC10T2 build going too, and I'm trying to find a good good pan.....
Sorry can't find the pic I had of it with the wing on. I'll get another. Just need some World's wheels/tire to finish it off.
