it coming along and dodent actual look likr that anymore(no pics yet sorry).i couldnt decide if i wanted to keep it vintage but then i say bah why bother with todays motors and tech.so i scored a nip black alum chassis on ebay, found a nip front nose brace at lhs, decided to bulletpreoof it so i went with rpm rear arms and hubs with 3/16 axle conversion, rpm front hubs and bulkhead was already on there so i added the front carriers, sticking with the yeller a&l steering bellcranks, took out the stealth tranny since it was crusty and rust and put in a rpm 18 tooth top gear stealth conversion(makes tranny ratio 2.65)
new rear bulk, shocktower, arm mountswaiting on front shock strut and will use the blue alum shocks from my b4 for it.gonna throw in a orion sv2 and lrp quantum.rims were the hardest so i said forget it and threw on b2 front rims and some xtr ribs, still waiting on the rear b2 rims but got the dirthawgs waiting to be mounted.viper body is already painted and awaits mounting.
i figure everyones got the vintage look i mind as well up it some with todays attitude

New Also
Hi, I just joined also. Got my RC10 in 86 2 years after they introduced it, still have it. Raced it on dirt, raced it on asphalt. Years ago when monster trucks first got started I bulit my son a Teenage Mutant Turtle Pizza Van out of the stock parts I had replaced with after market stuff. It sat on the shelf missing the tranny, shock towers and shocks for years (and believe me my wife asked frequently why I didn't get rid of it) until I went to ebay to see if I could get a parts RC10 to complete it. I ended up getting two and am building an asphalt racer out of the left over parts. I will post pics of it, and will post the old ones I took long ago. I was always a conservative racer and always maintained my cars (best way to win races is to first finish, ie don't breqak down, and second spend as much of the race as possible shiny side up), so you won't believe the condition of the original body that I always used for racing. As a side note, I also have an original Tamiya Rough Rder, and an Optima Mid both of which I obtained right after they were introduced. It turns out the modifying your cars does a real good job of perserving the stock ones. Sorry for being so long winded, more later

Old RC'ers never die, their wives just make them sell their cars
