Re: Getting Closer to a build
So thanks to member kzepplin2 for the info on the traxxas parts to add modern wheels. This is all the stuff i have gotten thus far. So this all started as a whim of getting a truck to bash, and is starting to turn into more of a light runner/restore build. I also have a team blue groove body for it as well. Basically scored one slider (one without the craptacular battery) first. Little research done and was sold as a graphite+. Thanks to another member Lavigna, I found out it was a xxt with upgraded parts. Pretty sure the other was a xxt cr. But i got em both for under 100$$. basically gonna use the best parts out of both kits and see what i end up with. as seen in photos i have been collecting parts here and there to get a nice looking model. this will be my first r/c since the rc10t team truck i had as a kid. still would like a new front bumper, but 60$$ for one is two steep. feel free to comment, as will no doubtably be looking for advice on this. still finishing basement and i will make a makeshift hobby room soon and probably start tearing down both trucks to clean and polish what i can. thanks for lookin..

Re: Getting Closer to a build
Small update, started tearing down one of the donor trucks. Seems previous owner got one of the screws stripped on the bottom of the trans. No big deal, but this is the transmission case I wanted to salvage between the two. Looks like they tried to drill out the screw with a bit that was as big as the threaded portion and broke the bit in the hex head. Small set back as I try to get this screw out without damaging the transmission case.

Small update...I have the rear end apart and transmission apart. Transmission looks great. Needs a good rebuild, but seems to be in excellent shape. Will post pics soon.

Looks really good for being a bunch of used parts. Thumbs up!

Re: Getting Closer to a build
Made more progress on the build back. Will post pics later. Question I have is, I have a like new hydra drive. I’m missing the big o-ring. Any help on this? Should I get a generic o-ring kit off the bay? Wondering if it would contain the needed o-ring??

Re: Getting Closer to a build
Sabula tech front bulkhead , cause I couldn’t source a decent priced new one. New graphite arms and blue throughout. I’ve always liked the blue look so, I’m going with it. If anyone could help....I’m short 2 4-40 x 3/8 blue countersunk screws. I’m pulling my hair out. Old rc is pretty scarce of hardware as of late. If anyone could help me with the blue hardware I would be very appreciative.
