What is the current status on the Masami "Stealth car" conversion kits?
I just got my re-re RC10 Worlds car running and only bought it for nostalgic sake. I knew it would be a shelf queen and that's fine.
I would just love to convert it into a 89/91 Masami "Stealth car" because in my youth that was the pinnacle of RC car design (previously fell in love with the Avante until I drove one). I remember as a teenager reading how both of the Aussie/Detroit cars were closely guarded secrets and all of the drama involved at the time with the cars and oversized rims.
It was a big day when I grabbed that RC Car Action issue from my mailbox and realized it had that in-depth article revealing Masami's 89 car and the YZ10. That was a BIG deal.
Question:
Is there any options for conversion anymore? I remember a company offered a realistic kit and a beefier "I'm actually going to drive it" kit.
I'm mainly looking for the double deck long arm graphite chassis and the realistic items to make a replica.

Yeah, one of those "don't drive your dream car" or "don't meet your idol" moments.Incredible_Serious wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 2:28 amGOLD!!!!Regulatori wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 2:27 am (previously fell in love with the Avante until I drove one).![]()

Still think Tamiya makes some of the best looking kits though. They just announced they'll be offering a repro Top Force Evolution 4wd (now called a "Top Force Evo") and the Egress again later this year. I so want both simply because they're incredibly looking and I have a soft spot for Tamiya. I would spend hours and hours reading those old Tamiya rc/model catalogs.

Factory Works
http://www.factoryworks.com/
This is their RPM comparable chassis set, they have other options to suit other arms

That chassis is for the rpm arms, not the associated stealth chassis unfortunately.
There is technically only one source for the stealth chassis, which is Jake. I don't know if he plans to make more at all.
If you get past that stumbling block, you need to find universals, differential outdrives and top shafts and pulleys.
All of the 3d printed parts can be found on shapeways.

Jeff has a few different versions of this chassis, one that works with a standard armed car, one that works with a standard rear and RC10T or standard nose plate and the one pictured above for the RPM World arms as far as I’m aware.

Yeah we don’t do anything for the stealth car. That was only Jake and Niki. Totally different platform altogether.

Ok I guess I picked this up wrong.
Apologies I didn’t realise you were looking for an actual 91 Worlds replica, I thought you just wanted a conversion for your worlds car that gave “the look”

Same here. I wish I had hung on to those issues with the 89/91 worlds and the car features.

I did the same. I still had a bunch of those catalogs until they were thrown out
recently when someone "cleaned up" and thought they were just old mailers. I don't even want to think about how much money it would take to replace them.
