My wife thinks I'm a one-trick-pony and with a dozen Associated Rc10s I guess I am.
So she bought me this Tamiya. And I really have no idea what I got.
Open and build or put it up on a shelf?????
Any help would be appreciated. Age, quality, difficulties with build or any suggestions.

That looks awesome Chuck.
My advice: open, build, run, shelf, run some more, back on the shelf, etc. Seriously, just find a smooth vacant parking lot somewhere and have some fun!!
Sorry I can't offer any assembly advice but if you build it, can you document the build in the Tamiya forum. I'd like to see it come together.

Grab a JIS screwdriver and build it up. I think you should drive it like you stole it!

A real big haul today.

I just can't bring myself to cut the shrink wrap on the Tamiya Audi R8R at least for now so...

The wife bought me...

A Futaba FX10.
Not even close to the pristine condition of the Audi but no fears of digging into it.

And there are 2 more mystery cars on the way

I'm going to tell you my secret. But don't let anyone else know.
When I had my stereo store an employee of the business behind me was/is a serious barbeque competitor.
He would bring slabs of ribs back from the weekends competition to that business and I'd always get some.
I asked questions about how he made them and then I practiced making ribs for 20 years or so.
I'm telling you when you want anything from your wife cook ribs!
