Street Weapon help
So I stumbled upon a "deal" for a $20 generically labeled Losi Street Weapon a few months back . I put it to the side not sure what to do with it and then ended up picking up a few nice on road bodies and thought the SW would be a nice home for the Lamborghini body and started about picking up bits and pieces for it.
Now that I had everything I thought I needed I set about cleaning and rebuilding it. It quickly became clear that this was not the "deal" I thought it was. The belts looked like dental floss when I took off the cover and the rear diff was just shredded.
The main issue I have is the wheels I have don't fit on the SW axles. I was thinking about drilling out the holes on the wheels to make the wider but I was research the wheels and ce across a very vague thread that said you could use XXXS CVD's. It also briefly mentioned something about a long gone RPM widening kit.
Long story short the CVD's don't fit the stock arms. I am already way to deep in this project to call it a "deal" but before I dump more money into it does anyone know if the XXXS rear arms will fit the SW? Do I need to swap out the hubs as well? Is there perhaps another solution I haven't stumbled upon yet?

Re: Street Weapon help
Unfortunately, I cannot answer any of your questions. But I'm looking forward to seeing a SW Lamborghini! Good luck with it!

Re: Street Weapon help
You will definitely see a SW Lamborghini, the big question is will it have a rear diff lol.
Here is the Delta Plastics body. No window masks so I am making my own. Don't mind the sharpie, I was practicing doing the panel lines and trying to see what I like.
I did have a small issue on the left front wheel, the plastic didn't snap clearly so I tried to sand it smooth, hope it looks ok after paint.

Re: Street Weapon help
Got the body painted up and I think it ce out pretty good.
Unfortunately when I got to the decals this went south. The decals are absolute trash, there is no legend as to which lights go where and the accent pieces don't line up with body moulds to determine placement.
I can deal with that but the decals are not clear, all of the negative space is white! How can I put a black and white rear grille on a red car??
I am glad I outlined the windows in paint since the outline decals are not the same size as the window indentations.
Frustrating build all around...
And here is a mock up pic with the wheels. This does make me smile tho

Re: Street Weapon help
Whelp a SW Lamborghini doesn't look like it's gonna happen. I can't seem to get the wheelbase out to 200mm and even if I could find the RPM widening kit I think the cost would likely be prohibitive.
Anyway the body has moved to another chassis and still looks pretty great...

Re: Street Weapon help
At least you gave it the old college try; you never know until you do. I really like that body. Doesn't matter what's underneath. (Famous last words.
) Looks great, especially with those wheels!

Re: Street Weapon help
All the losi belts from the SW/XX4, XXXS, etc break down with age. Even if you find them NOS they will probably be no good. Tough Racing should have them for sale, but in a different material.
Street weapons also used a smaller hex with zero offset wheels, at a time when almost every other sedan used wheel offset and a 12 mm hex. You might be able to find some plastic hexes from another car and drill them out to see if that might work, though you would probably need to find some very thin hexes for the front. Then you could use like drift rims with +8 mm offset or something
