Re: Le Mans motor restorations
Any time I need to remove stickers, I just hit them up with a hair dryer, lift up an edge and peel off. Usually that's enough heat to soften up the adhesive, and a spray and soak for a few seconds with WD-40 takes care of any sticky residue left behind. Some stickers come right off with no residue, some leave behind residue. I use a heat gun if the stickers are particularly stubborn, but be careful if there's any plastic nearby that could deform or melt.

Re: Le Mans motor restorations
There's one for sale on Gumtree here in Australia, way to expensive for me though.

Re: Le Mans motor restorations
This ended up being a real nice example but i paid a shitload for it....usual restoration stuff...cut comm, bearings, brushes and decal. It doesnt turn what the original publication claims of 29 to 30k...i am only getn 26,500rpm. Its an 18 double and armature is correct. It sounds just like a 240s when running. I ordered some ceramic bearings for it to try and squeeze a little more. But its a cool motor and i dig it

Re: Le Mans motor restorations
Good news...i owed my brother some coin...which is why he had my 240st. I wanted it back so i scored a nib superstock 34 for his Ultima....so the 240st is comin back to the collection!
