Re: New Optima-based Build
Where is the lower part of the chain going to run? It looks like the pink parts are obstructing.

Re: New Optima-based Build
An update. I've had printed parts, and a donor Turbo Optima, sitting around for months. But, I've finally had some time over the holiday break to break the donor car down and do a trial assembly. It's coming along well and I've already seen a few things that can be improved. The chassis side pieces are 3D printed for now; I'll go with fiberglass, carbon fiber or aluminum for the final build. Or I may try printing a carbon fiber nylon. And I have a name for the car: The Turbo Pro Optiant

Re: New Optima-based Build
Slowly getting there. Should be the final version of all the printed/fabricated parts...until I run it and something falls apart in the first minute

Re: New Optima-based Build
Made some more progress today. Got the steering servo in, battery mounts installed and an additional chassis stiffener behind the spur gear. At this pace, I may actually get to test run it (sans body) this weekend!

If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Re: New Optima-based Build
Thank you! I think the Kyosho designers would have done a better job, though. There are some inadequacies and more will show up when I drive it.

Re: New Optima-based Build
Thanks! I have an AYK Boost repro body from Sabula Tech. I originally wanted to use a Parma Desert Dog body, but it won't fit without extensive cutting.
