Re: Le Mans motor restorations
Just needs a new decal now. Picked up 3k rpm after rebuild. This one turns, 22,200rpm @ 7.2v zero degrees and pulls just .75 amp

Re: Le Mans motor restorations
Awesome, glad you found a 480T
There's a NIB 240SB on ebay UK, that's gonna bring a hefty price tag as a 240S went for £152 last week
The 480T you have looks pretty healthy.

Re: Le Mans motor restorations
Here's my modest contribution to the showcase. A 480 Gold and 360 Gold I rebuilt are in my bro's and a buddy's cars, and I ended up selling an SPA 240WS that I restored (but was already in near-mint condition). I should have another restored 480S somewhere but for some reason, it's not in my display case. Now I gotta find it...

Re: Le Mans motor restorations
I would have to say the first Le mans motors I remember, so in order: 240S, 480T & 480S.
I must say I like the 360PT and 600E as those were the first five and if I were to compile a collection, those would be the ones I would want. Aside from those the 240SB is very nice.

Re: Le Mans motor restorations
It took me a while to acquire that 240SB...it's also in excellent condition. I don't think I'll sell it though because it was one that a buddy raced with his Turbo Optima back in the day and I envied him. It took many years to score one! What a burner that was, 30,000+ rpm on 8.4V.

Re: Le Mans motor restorations
Wow, really nice work here, some nice motors you’ve got going on. I’d love a blue one to add to my small collection, I’m lucky enough to have a new 240SB in my collection, keep hunting, you’ll find one.

Re: Le Mans motor restorations
Very nice. 240SB, 240E and 360E to go. You'll then have all ten, three piece Le Mans motors.

Chris.

Re: Le Mans motor restorations
Awesome Motor Collection. I've got a soft spot for the Kyosho motors, been buying/collecting these as well when I see them for cheap. I've been meaning to do something similar with mine for a long time. Got as far as buying a tachometer with a plan to make a proper rpm test station but I just haven't done anything. Hopefully I can re visit it soon. Pic of my motors below.
