Thanks for the info. I have been using the #7001 manual from the Associated web site as that is all that I have been able to find. Is there a copy of the newer team truck manual online anywhere? I have searched, but have only found links to broken images.Mark Westerfield wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 5:10 am There are different manuals for the different trucks. They call for different stuff, lol.

Re: RC10T Team build from parts bin
I could use some input on the setup of the truck style hubs, as I can't seem to find a manual that includes them. I seem to remember that they do not use flanged bearings, is that correct? Also, what is the spacer/shim setup supposed to look like?

Re: RC10T Team build from parts bin
Thanks for the detailed posts and pictures, this is great stuff! I look forward to the finish.
I use the non-flanged bearings in the truck rear hubs. With the universals I usually run 1-2 spacers between the axle and the inner bearing so the pin is snug but doesn't inhibit free spinning.

Thanks for the info. It turns out that I have lots of flanged bearings and spacers but no 1/4" bearings without the flange. I just ordered a bunch from Avid.

Re: RC10T Team build from parts bin
The nylon nuts are from Essentra Components. The 8-32 ones are part number 0700832LN or 0700832SLN. The 4-40 ones are part number 0700440SLN or 0700440LN. I believe the difference between the two sets of part numbers is that the 's' variant is self-threaded. They are also listed as white instead of natural. Although I ordered both the white ones and natural and they look the same to me.
On thing I did notice is that the flats on the 4-40 nuts are slightly under .25 so they are a bit smaller than the AE ones. I haven't checked the 8-32 ones yet.
I don't think they make them in other colors, but I didn't look too close as I was only looking for the white ones.
I sourced them through Digi-Key as it was easy for me to order from them, but if you search online there are other options such as Grainger, Mouser, etc.

We have not made too much progress lately as we are waiting for a few bits to arrive that I did not have in the parts bin. However, we did get the battery cup, antenna mount and rear arms installed:

I've done a few RC10's of all forms now... nothing beats spanking-white plastics on a black tub, visually speaking. This is the best looking combo of all!!!cobalta70 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2020 10:45 pm We have not made too much progress lately as we are waiting for a few bits to arrive that I did not have in the parts bin. battery_cup.jpgI didn't have a decent set of hard anodized shocks so I fished a set out of the bay. They arrived today:

This will be one superb truck

sidenote - how people can accept to do this is beyond me however... after all these years, this and wood screws are my two pet peeves...
