RC10 B4 rebuild/update

Post by Headling »

So gave my B4 an overhaul/update with some new parts during the Covid crisis, enjoyed rebuilding this car, such an epic car that I raced the hell out of!

So the spec is:

Brass polished hinge pin holder
SS screw kit, every screw has been polished
K factory alloy bulkhead
+8mm chassis courtesy of Goldspeed Racing
New Trinity Motor Plate
V2 slipper
Polished Core Rc under lipo weight
Carbon FT rear brace
Tuning Haus Thumb Screws
Ti Shock bolts
Jconcepts ball cups
Ti FT turnbuckles

Also found some Trinity Alloy Rear hubs too which I may fit

There is a few clubs running a rear motor class in the UK so will try and go and race this as soon as I can!

I have a B4.1 and wonder if they are totally uncompetitive at this point...no plans to race but more of a curiosity thing...are that and my SC10.2 just collectors items at this point :) thnaks

There is a growing interest in rear motor, could be a fun class

As to being competitive these days, probably not unless it’s really loose/low traction
If in doubt go flat out!

Thanks, the local track I think is hard packed clay, just interesting that the mid motor config is that much better from a competitive perspective, I remember when rear motor was essentially all their was....would be good to see a return to real dirt tracks but I can understand why the move to clay and carpet from an upkeep perspective

Thank you Headling for posting such a fine example.
No disrespect to mid motor fans but a rear motor 2WD car will always be the quintessential off-road RC buggy for me.
The B4 represents the end of an era and is probably starting to become a desirable and collectible vintage buggy.

this is such a class-defining car... just like the RC10 bitd, this ruled for a whole decade until the centro, which was using the same suspension. Masteful design by Easton.

also how hard is it to find parts, any concern that stuff will get difficult to get ahold of. Saw someone mention elsewhere that parts were getting scarce for these.

I love my old B4.1 too! Yours has a very nice paint job and equipped nicely! I don't have the top of the line edition, just the rtr version. I kept it in the box with the plan to upgrade the car to one like yours. Great handling car when setup right. It ran circles around my friends old RC10.
