Re: *** The official VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS thread ***
Yeah, I'm a little worried about the distance and travel costs right now. A road trip out there from here is just about $520 in gas alone. I'm weighing my options, and shipping/flying is not looking real good, either.
I'm already getting bummed.

Yeah, it would be a nice vacation, but mostly just for ME. The rest of the family would rather go South, to a beach somewhere. Cant possibly pay for the Gas to both, so "the good of many, far outweigh the good of a few" (or, in this case, the ONE (ME ).

Re: *** The official VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS thread ***
Thanks for the kind words everyone... r/c has always been my 1st passion in life and I'm honored to be the part of this hobby that I have been.
Melvin PM me and we'll talk
Sieb I have to email you about some stuff but i'm at work so I'll talk to you tonight
I hear you all on the gas thing, I'm getting crushed with 3.83/gallon here already. I think the best way to go is in groups... when i go to snowbirds I always do it with a few people, makes it at least a little more reasonable.
Speaking of vacations, there actaully is TONS to do out here if you really are considering it. I konw Mini Cooper and Sieb are considering taking the week after to explore. I can help you guys out if you want to know more about what there is to do out here. Just PM me, i'm always happy to help.

Erich,
as others have said, thanks for the hard work.
A couple questions for both you and Mark regarding travel:
What hotel is closest to the track? Are there any that seem to be more friendly/accomidating with bringing the rc stuff into the rooms or any that should be avoided?

Part of picking out the venue was hotels in the area. The track is in downtown Waterbury and there is a Holiday In Express a mile or so up the road. I will look tonight and put up a list of local hotels within a 10 min drive... I know there are at least 3 or 4 I can think of off the top of my head but i'll make a list later on tonight.

Are there any camp grounds locally? I am not afraid of a tent and actually have 2 that have yet to be opened. And they are at least 4 years old.

Looks like round trip plane tics are about $250 from Nashville. This is looking good.
Make sure the hobbyshop has plenty of chassis protector sheets!

For $250, I am going to drive 1.5 hours to fly out of Nashville.
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.

Yes round trip. Gotta buy it off the Southwest website though. (no big deal)
Got the thumbs up from the only person who would complain about me going!
This oughta be fun.....
