Re: Jamie Booth 1986 euro's replica
I have actually been regretting selling that recently, but at least it has gone towards a great project.

Re: Jamie Booth 1986 euro's replica
I have a mag article from the Radio Race Car Series finals, late in '86, which gives a tech spec for the cars and Jamie won that day with his RC10. Looks like it was indeed a Futaba 131-S servo he ran in this car, so the spare you have is spot on.
(Incidentally, i own the Rory Cull Hotshot which came 3rd in the same race)
The Demon advert I have here mentions a 'Demon Dart' bodyshell for the RC10.

Here is the Demon Dart, it’s not a very good angle, the main features are the scoop on the roof the rear wing and the covered shock bulges.
IIRC the body came out in early 1987. I always felt that it looked better on the PB mini mustang.
Here is another photo of the Demon Low profile.

Re: Jamie Booth 1986 euro's replica
Never seen either of those before I don't think.
There is mention of another body in the March 87 Demon advert from Radio Race Car magazine, but it is very low quality. I am trying to get another copy of it, but it looks like it reads 'Ultra Lite short body'....

Re: Jamie Booth 1986 euro's replica
I don't think Jamie was too concerned about the weather, judging by his mods to that gold pan!!!
Just looking at the initial pictures you posted - I have seen that mainly black DEMON sticker on the side of the shell before, but not for sale too often. Do you have one of these already???? I imagine being the prism effect as per the original Demon sticker style it might be tough to replicate?

Re: Jamie Booth 1986 euro's replica
Great progress on the car! Loving this thread. I opened up this last photo and the one you posted of the original for a side-by-side comparison. is the motor plate drilled out also? You can just see a partial hole above the gearbox on Jamie's car i reckon.
Had a bit of time on my hands today so started hunting for one of those Demon stickers too....
I also called Nick Adams to see whether he happened to have an Ultra Lite RC10 bodyshell kicking about. He said he hadn't seen one since the late 80's either.... so that's a no-go.
I then remembered one of my friends had an unusual, converted RC10 with a shortened chassis so i looked through his old pictures and bingo! This seems to be another example of the same Demon shell - a clearer picture of one at least. Same sunken panel in front of the windscreen.

Re: Jamie Booth 1986 euro's replica
Awesome picture!!! That's the best one by far.
I'm sure you asked Nick about the prismatic sticker right? What did he say?
Yes I think you are right about the hole in the motor plate. Needless to say I'll leave that to artistic licence. In other words its "probably" there but I didn't see it!

Re: Jamie Booth 1986 euro's replica
Nick said he couldn't recall about the stickers as he hadn't seen them for a looooong time either, but he was willing to have a dig and get back to me if he finds one.
I have since had somebody else contact me and say they will send me this though....
I wonder if i will be able to get it replicated?
There are a few more pictures of that car actually. It's a funky mid-motored affair, but good shots of the bodyshell.

Re: Jamie Booth 1986 euro's replica
Wow with all those pictures!!!
Tomorrow I'm buying a block clay!! I'm going to get all Adam and Eve on this!!!
Replicating that sticker is conditioned in finding the prismatic sticker material. Look for a printers that has been in business since the 80's when that was all the rage maybe they know were to get it.
