Who made these shock clamps?
These came on a car I just got. they are aluminum and have a set screw to clamp in place. the springs are recessed inside the clamp. Home-made or a production piece?

Re: Who made these shock clamps?
Look like they could be home brew since they don't look very refined. If there was enough of a demand for them I could see what I could do in getting some more made up. I would think the set screw would mark the hell out of the shock though...

Re: Who made these shock clamps?
How many grub screws does it have to secure it?
If it's one it could be;
Delta
Kyosho
Hot Trick
Yokomo
etc..
If it's two it could be;
JG
CRP
Parma
Dirt Burners/Thorp
etc...
Quite a few companies made these back in the day, it's hard to tell without more detailed pics...

Re: Who made these shock clamps?
From what I know so far:
Kyosho ones don't fit the RC10 shocks, nor the Yokomo ones. I beleive they are Hot Trick because they only have 1 set screw and the milling shape looks exactly like a those, but now I have been wrong in the past and will be in the future too...

Re: Who made these shock clamps?
I couldn't tell whether it was only one or whether it was two screws from the pics. I thought they were to fat to be Hot Trick ones personally.Asso_man! wrote:From what I know so far:

I had not noticed a difference in shock body diameters. I will check though.
BTW these would be made on a lathe not a mill.

Re: Who made these shock clamps?
these have 2 holes opposite each other, both are threaded. 2 have squared off edges top and bottom, 2 have a chamfer on the top outer edge.

Re: Who made these shock clamps?
These are the CRP/RCH shock clamps
The two set screws are 90 degrees from the each other.
The way these allow the spring up inside reminds me of the early CRP coilovers for the SRB's Obviously these are much larger but similar in design.

All those shocks have the same body diameter, I checked last night.Asso_man! wrote:From what I know so far:

I will take some pics of the alloy clamps I have and post up when I get a chance.

Re: Who made these shock clamps?
Those were the CRP coil overs, RCH only had 1 set screw.
