RC10T Lipo in Factory Tray?

Post by Maxxpain »

Is there a 2s lipo that fits the stock RC10T tray or do I need to change the battery tray. Thanks

I tried these packs and there too big

I first tried the SMC 5200mah https://www.smc-racing.net/index.php?route=product/product&path=67_97&product_id=387
▪ Battery Dimension: 139*47*25MM
▪ Battery Weight: 309g

I then tried this one
OVONIC 50C 2S 5200mAh 7.4V https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JJ4Q65Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1&pldnSite=1
▪ Battery Dimension: 137*46*24MM
▪ Battery Weight: 259g

I cut the front of the battery cup off and also installed servo mounts so the lipo just rests against the steering servo . With a 5200 you may have to cut the bottom out of the rear bulkhead like the re release . I am using a 40c 5000mah Venom with bullet connectors ( 137x46x23 ) .

I use,

Turnigy 4000 mAh, 2s 30C, hard case.

They fit straight into a unmodified RC10T.

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-4000mah-2s-30c-hardcase-pack-roar-approved.html?wrh_pdp=2

They are approximately,

5 1/4" x 1 3/4" x 7/8" or 132mm x 49mm x 21mm

Before I ordered mine, I cut a piece of wood to the dimensions they listed online to make sure it would fit.

Their listed size is 135.5 x 45.5 x 22mm, I just checked and the listed size will fit.

I did change mine to a different connector.

:)

I just checked, my RC10T is a new chassis and I seem to remember they moved the battery tray holes forward.

I have a, A stamp and the battery tray would need the front cut out of it, to fit that battery I suggested.

Looks like I have only one unmodified chassis, duh! :?

The best bet would be to cut a piece of wood that fits perfectly and go from there, check the battery sizes online,

saves buying a battery and find that it does not fit!

Sorry for the confusion,I forgot my 10T had a new replacement black chassis.

:)

the trick is - use a standard shorty and a snug piece of hard foam in the bulkhead - so the shorty just sits in the front box, and is pushed forward good enough by the piece of foam so there is zero chance it jumps off the front box retainer on a hit.

Sorry, no pic available atm, but you get the idea ;)

I ordered the previous linked lipos before reading this post LOL. So are the 4000mah lipos actually 132mm long or the web site listed 135.5mm long?

I just measured mine again with a better measuring stick,
