Since we just recently celebrated our Independence Day, I thought it would be appropriate to introduce you to my Military themed build, Project 'Merica!

My older son's new build. He helped me build most of it. Think of it as a stealth CE set up like a re-release worlds car. Gold pan, custom blue anodized shocks. 17.5 brushless system. Salvaged original Mirage body that had the wrong type of paint on it. Not too bad, not too great for some running with Dad and his brother.

Here's my Baja Bug Ultima from 1988 - bought in 1998 at a time when eBay was mostly uknown... probably one of my first vintage RC purchases (I mean, beyond what I bought in the 80's!). I rebuilt it fully with the LeMans Motor back then, and painted/decaled it as the previous owner had not gone to that extent. So, yes, that L-O-V-E-L-Y pilot's paint job is mine
It's been a runner for a couple of years, I was taking it to the office once in a while - with its Original Kyosho Pulsar radio. It's a cute little car but it runs like crap if you ask me, as it's pitifully undersprung and has ZERO damping... it gets silly pitch and roll angles, and snaps oversteer when you turn the wheel as it's little on the porky side for the scale. I haven't run it since, wow, I can't even remember. Last time the battery was charged was probably in 2001 or 2002?
But it's sooooo cute... I'll never sell it
Enjoy the builds this month, good luck to all!
Paul

My rerelease schumacher cat xls. Did some upgrades to it, such as the ball bearing steering assembly, inspired by the original Wasp racing. Also changed out all the piano wire pivot pins for screwed hinge pins.

Great cars as usual. I see little suspense here as to who's gonna take this trophy home, but it's always good fun to be the (very under) underdog
