These are some more 834b bits , rear trailing arms , i wanted to make some slightly longer ones for my runner , the black one is just a 1/1 test print with no detail , one of the white ones is a copy of the original but slightly strengthened in the cross brace ribs and the one with DADIO on it is 5 mm longer and constructed differently , I'm printing the long one now in what i hope will be a fairly finished design , the 1/1 copy needs a couple of revisions before i share that either but the pictures show where I'm going .

Following your advice i fitted the longer trailing arm to the rear of my runner 834b as a tester printed in draft , very nice fit , only revised one thing and that's to incorporate the washer that's fitted at the front pivot into the design of the arm , this will widen the arm at the pivot and hopefully reduce play at the joint ,i increased it from 10 mm to 12 mm wide so a 20% increase , I have another printing now with this addition and I'll give it a gentle run , I have some PET-G coming so as a final part I'll try it in that material , hopefully the dimensions won't change too much .

I have to say, Dadio, for someone who was completely new to 3D modeling and printing just a few days ago, you appear to be picking this up rather quickly. Those parts shown above are VERY nice!! 8)

I'm more than a little jealous. :D

I have a lath and mill so I'm used to thinking I 3d and also drawing up designs , I'm also dyslexic and I think that help in these situations .once you get a handle on the software its not that hard just a big initial hill to climb .

Lucky for me, my business makes WAAAAAY under 100k a year so it’s a free license for at least a year. Titan has said that they mean it is year to year, I guess we will know in time for sure but with his relationship with them, I suspect it will remain this way.

I've made a start on designing a copy of the original Yokomo YZ-834b top deck/chain guide , this has been a part ive wanted for yeasrs now but they rarely come up for sale and when they do its for a price i could afford but not justify , its been tricky as I've never seen one in the flesh , I've been working off loads of photo's and my own car that lacks this piece to get or guess the dimensions , I've got as far as a working prototype but it needs numerous revisions to get it closer to the original part , I should be able to do the design changes later and print it in draft then I'll post some pictures .

Here we go with the YZ-834b top deck time line , from the first on the left , first is just a flat piece to check the screw alignment , next is still very flat but has the servo saver mount added and a raised edge but i cocked up the dimensions , third is basically what i wanted with the previous version after a few corrections , the fourth is more fully formed with depth but the chain guide was all wrong , the fifth is much better shape but still with hard angles everywhere and a usable design , all just draft quick prints.

Lastly the fifth version installed .

I have a more fully finished version printing now but it wont be done for 3.75 hours

The under sides are quite rough on the two more fully formed versions but they were quick draft prints , I'm hoping that a higher res print with denser support will be better , trying to make a copy of the original makes it hard to avoid supports , I could have minimised them by printing it on its side but then the supported edges would have been partially visible so its a no win situation .
