Re: 2019 RC10Talk.com Vintage Shootout - 3/31/19 - Crispy Critters Hobby Shop and Raceway - Fairfield, NJ
My plans actually just changed and now I should be in the area race day weekend.
Sounds interesting.
I'd like to meet some of my fellow collectors in New Jersey ( I live in central Jersey)
I'll see if I can convince one or two of my boys to go with me to do some vintage racing.
I gotta build a few runners first.
Time to get wrenching...
..and a quick note - The website mentioned in flyer is still reflecting 2018 racing. Nothing is in it regarding 2019 in Fairfield, NJ

VONATS is a different race, but the weblink is for the rules for 'vintage racing' as followed in the VONATS race. Nothing has really changed since the 2018 race. The Fairfield shootout will follow VONATS rules.

Looking forward to pictures. Any plans to photo closeups of the car setup/upgrades?
I grew up in Lambertville NJ, and miss the four seasons, jersey pizza, corn and tomatoes.
Good luck vintage racers!

Well I'm out. I have to exit Philly and head to Blacksburg VA. Wrong direction I know. Have fun gents.

Just a reminder, the track is open for practice today. I should be there by noon.

There are photos but not too many were taken. Toby from Critters took the most, Jason has some photos of the winners. They'll have to get them posted here.
The turnout was lighter than hoped, with 14 entries (I think?) It ended up being mostly 2wd buggy 17.5. There were 2 4wd entries that were problematic and it was a war of attrition, or who could keep running the longest. One truck entry so obviously no truck heats or mains and no classic or wheelie entries.
2wd buggy 17.5 was a field of rc10's of various lineage; gold pans, worlds cars, my woin. There were top cats and an ultima, a b3 and a losi, xx maybe?
It was a lot of fun, for me, as I'm terrible and pretty much just keep the last place spot solidly my own, but it's better than running in circles in my back yard.
the critters track layout is really cool right now, long straight in front of driver stand, chicane on the left to the top of the track to doubles along the back stretch, back to center track with a short jump into left turn, into center triple. around the corner to a table top in right top corner, back to sweeper into the straightaway.

Great news...I live in south Jersey and would be very interested in attending. Are the class entry fees the same as the VONATS? I've been to the VONATs a few times and, while the event is well organized, there is no tech inspection at all which leads most reasonable people to believe there is some solid cheating going on. Will that be case for the RC10talk.com '20 race? Thanks.
