Two Cadillac A Stamp Rebuilds
So to preface my post I have recently acquired two Rc10's and a large box of original and aftermarket Rc10 parts mostly stock and Andy's. I began digging a bit and I have decided I want to finish the one build which is 90% complete in the original buggy with all original parts. I believe after itemization I have all of the original parts. The second Rc10 has been converted to the Andy's Monster truck kit (I believe its #3425) after looking at the article that I have with these two cars as well as all of the original paperwork/instructions. I have no intention of running these Rc10's anymore. I'll trash my slash and admire these.
I guess my dilemma is should I leave the Andys Monster truck Rc10 or swap it back to the original. Are the Andy's parts looked at as "upgrades" or should I leave the stock parts. Im going to reference the 30 year old instruction manuals during this build as I am new to the Rc10 and not sure what's stock and what's not besides the obvious Andy's parts. My second dilemma is I don't really know what I have besides my research I have done on this forum. I believe I have two A Stamped #6016's based on the box and research from the forum. As this is my second post besides the welcome post I think I will have to wait to upload pictures.
Look forward to the advise and the help ~

Re: Two Cadillac A Stamp Rebuilds
Welcome Bob, you should be able to post pics right away.
The Andy's truck conversion is actually not too easily seen, there are only a couple of of them on the baords. If it's all together it's a sweet piece of history. I'd say restore it and enjoy a somewhat uncommon conversion.

Re: Two Cadillac A Stamp Rebuilds
I"m going to see if I am adding these pictures correctly. I understand that the wheels are on backwards on the rear and the fronts of the bodiless rc10 are the rears. I have some work to do from the previous owner. The box reads "#6016 $290.00 Complete Kit w/ball bearings, less radio, batteries and electronic speed controller". I have two buggy bodies one clear and one painted blue. Clear driver as well.

Yeah, what Brian means is you have some really nice rare stuff on the buggy. It's not stock. It has an mip transmission and a very highly sought after mip 4wd kit partially installed
There will be lots of guys drooling over it

Re: Two Cadillac A Stamp Rebuilds
here is some information, which you may already have tucked in the box. You need the belt and the belt tensioner for sure.

Re: Two Cadillac A Stamp Rebuilds
Hi Bob, that is some really nice kit you have there. I reckon I'm one of those guys jwscab mentioned.
Anyway, here's a link to the post I mentioned in the welcome forum. This should help with parts identification, which ones are period correct, etc.

Re: Two Cadillac A Stamp Rebuilds
See the forum is helping me already! I found the instructions for the MIP belt kit. After looking at the other age you referenced it looks the Belt drive came after the Chain drive.
If both of my manuals are from the Cadillac address would that indicate they are both "Cadillacs"? I have the box with Cadillac address for the one just no box for the other.

Re: Two Cadillac A Stamp Rebuilds
more than likely they are cadillac cars, by and large this is the predominant location for most production. check out the thread XLR8 posted, it goes in great detail regarding what your cars may be.

Re: Two Cadillac A Stamp Rebuilds
So I took the morning to itemize which was quite a pain. The bottom of the box was just all screws and miscellaneous parts and pieces. Judging from the looks of it I have the old (new) transmission from the car with the MIP and a bunch of other parts. I also found some clod buster pieces mixed in lol. Still more to dig through.... Hopefully some of the extras can help someone down the road. Is there anything I might be missing since as I previously stated I am new to the Rc10. I appreciate all the info thus far. The links to the history forum and 4x4 were very helpful.

Re: Two Cadillac A Stamp Rebuilds
Tonight I removed the Andys front bumber and got the belt installed. Next up is the tensioner! I saw a01butal’s build and it gave me some serious motivation...took some time to replace some of the screws with the correct ones after noticing the pic where the motor goes has two dif screw lengths.
