Thank you for the heads-up.Lowgear wrote: ↑Tue Jul 31, 2018 4:00 am Tomorrow August 1st I will be updating the board to the newest version. I will also be updating the board to the newest PHP version. All modifications will need to be temporarily uninstalled, and themes disabled. The board will be closed periodically for extended lengths of time throughout the day as I work on things. Just a heads-up as the process won't be pretty, and you won't be able to use the board during it.
Something clever goes here...

Re: Forum News & Discussion
Well that took 3 hours just to perform the update. I ran into all kinds of problems during it.
I've never experienced a more convoluted process than what phpBB has.
Good thing it doesn't have to happen often.

Re: Forum News & Discussion
Updated PHP to the latest version which was of huge importance since it hasn't been done in around a decade.
Installed the latest AcidTech theme to work with the updated board version.

The forums are now reopened! Although I still have a lot of things to accomplish so you might notice some odd behavior here and there.

Speaking of odd behaviour, are we going to get the shouty chatty box back? I miss having a go at RC10th....

Re: Forum News & Discussion
Well I'm sorry to say that the "@" mod cannot be installed again as it hasn't been updated since last year by its creator, and has several issues that need addressing. I'll keep checking if any new developments take place with it.
To make it up to you I've installed a "Thanks" mod in its place. You can now give thanks to posts you find helpful. Try not to abuse it or it will be taken away.

Re: Forum News & Discussion
Set it so that the chat always retains the last 5 messages after being purged every day. This way it will never be empty as that's not a good look.

Re: Forum News & Discussion
It came to my attention that the text box for contacting us was white along with the entered text thus making it invisible. That's now been fixed.

Re: Forum News & Discussion
I recently implemented a modification that automatically reduces uploaded image file sizes. If anyone receives an error while trying to upload an image attachment, let me know.
