- The left-over parts project -
With so many parts left-over from previous projects, it was time to make a good use of these. It actually started with a beautiful 2x3 carbon chassis I bought years ago. Then the trigger to start something around it was a recent purchase of a full set of early Goodyear tires that actually came with a full set of Advanced MiniMags wheels I had no real use for. I was bored the other day and started digging through the stash of spare parts amassed over the years and found a set of Tecnacraft turnbuckles, black Andy’s arms, a MIP trans with a gear diff and torque limiter set up etc. I also had left over stainless steel screws hanging around on the bench. That was enough to start something!
If anyone knows which brand made the chassis I would be very glad.

Glad you like the wheels guys, I didn’t care much about them as I was mainly after the Goodyear tires. Here is the MIP tranny I’ll use on this. I actually had a large choice of spare trannies available but most of them would have required drilling new holes in the chassis which I wanted to avoid. The BRP Power Glide was a serious option though.
Well pictures later as I can’t seem to be able to upload right now...

I don’t know if it was a bug in the server or my phone but picture uploading seems to work again so here are some trannies I have laying around. I’ll use the black MIP box for this project although the torque control setup is missing a few parts. I will try to make it work with off the shelf hardware.

More than enough to get started !
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

More than enough to start indeed. I went ahead but didn’t take any in between pics. I still have to sort some details but you get the idea.

Wow thats really cool. Those goodyears do look great. How well do the stay on those wheels? Doent look like their is much of a lip on them to hold the tires on. Do they get glue?

Re: - The left-over parts project -
Goodyear tires are like new and were never glued. They do fit the rear wheels nicely as they are 1.6” but the fronts don’t as they are 1.9”. That’s why the previous owner mounted them on original wheels with a (Pargu?) half alloy wheel. These Goodyear tires will be used on My Gene Husting replica though.fst72vette wrote: ↑Sun May 06, 2018 11:07 pm Wow thats really cool. Those goodyears do look great.
