Re: Another Scale Racing Truck
That's pretty flipping cool, the videos on the last page are awesome, it was a little difficult to tell the real truck from the rc to begin with. No space frame chassis but still looks very scale with the body on to me and hopefully it wont be a fortune

Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.

Re: Another Scale Racing Truck
It will probably be pretty cheap, it still uses rustler suspension parts and trans. That looks like a really fun spec class, I'm going to see if we can get a class of these going at the indoor track this winter. It's a really small track, 35'x50' so the short course thing is all there! It would look like the old Mickey Thompson races I think

I will be looking into one of these also....toss the radio stuff and go Mamba/Lipo...this thing will be a rocket. Tranny looks pretty stout also.

Re: Another Scale Racing Truck
Looks like Thundertech have been beaten to market, and I guess most buyers won't be as interested in the spaceframe chassis as long as it looks scale when it's moving. The body certainly looks so much better than the Thundertech one as well. Even though the rest is just a buggy with a raised chassis the higher CoG really makes it roll like the real thing.
And those tyres will find there way onto plenty of scale builds.
As it's using Rustler/Stampede front and rear ends this thing is pretty big
I've got a T2 needing a new body

I was browsing through the traxxas forums, and it is estimated late may at ~180 street price.mrlexan wrote:I am digging it! I didn't see a release date or price.... maybe I didn't look deep enough.
I called the LHS today to request that they order one for me, It looks neat, and many of the parts are interchangeable with the stampede I already have.

Re: Another Scale Racing Truck
I will own one.. I've been waiting for this realistic stadium truck for a long time. I actually own a Tamiya Toyota Prerunner still in the box, but that wasn't a very capable frame and it's worth too damn much money now to build. If this were to go to a spec class at the local track, I'd be in it in a minute....

Re: Another Scale Racing Truck
I'm trying to come up with a set of rules for our indoor offroad track and then I'm going to try and promote it at the outdoor races this year. If we can get 4 or 5 running I think it will take off, I'm proposing that the trucks be completly stock, and we will spec a cheap battery pack. As soon as we can get some testing done and see how long it will run we will set the race time. I'm thinking 6 or 7 minute races with a lemans start and no ifmar starts for the qualifiers. We don't start racing indoors until October so I have a little time to work on it, but I might get one early and run it outdoors for fun to get people excited about the class. I want to have a concourse comp too

Re: Another Scale Racing Truck
The Orion 3200 Lipo would be a great spec pack. Only need one, you can recharge it several times a day with no issues. I run one in my GTB 6.5 powered ZX5 and only use around 1800 mAh for a 5 minute race.
I agree a spec class would be best, something most beginners can get into for around a couple hundred bucks and grow from there.

Re: Another Scale Racing Truck
Tamiya had these with their PRE-RUNNER class.
We have/had (when #s permit) a class of these that run on our indoor track. I always thought they were pretty realistic. suspension needed some improvement, but otherwise, pretty cool.
I like traxxas, doubt I would buy one, but I like the innovation Traxxas is using.
