Re: XLS Rerelease
Hi Doug,
I am unaware of a smaller front pulley than the 50T from Schumacher....pretty sure that was for the spool set up as per the SW/XL CAT and besides any smaller pulley the belt will start to hit the front stabilizer bar....no? 51T is standard for the integrator and differential pulleys.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: XLS Rerelease
response is quite slow mainly because of the time difference and maybe also due to the heavy flow of emails, but they will reply and follow thru. as for the colours i believe they will reply but will take some time.
I got the tranny upgrade kit and sent them a question regarding the top shaft bearing if it was included or not as the manual shows that it is but does not included in the parts lists. they replied but took some time.

Re: XLS Rerelease
possible if you could share those pieces to those needy peopleuzzi wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2017 10:59 pm Just sharing some mods I have done for the CAT. I made some alloy spacers to replace the plastic ones for the suspension. I noticed that some of the CATs i had restored in the past the screws were bent. I assume this is through flex.....hopefully this mod would prevent this from happening.
I also made some stepped washers to centralized the spring and prevent it from wobbling about.

i want i want iwant.....

Re: XLS Rerelease
still haven't got time into the kit,

need to install these soon.
also noticed that in the tranny upgrade kit, manual will show 2 8x16x5 Bearings but this pair is not included as per support.

fyi

Re: XLS Rerelease
The 8x16x5 bearings are not supplied in the upgraded transmission as they are already included in the original kit. Why would you supply a second set
Re: XLS Rerelease
Hi Folks,
I am looking at building a 4WD re released kit like this and/or the Kyosho Optima.
I’m looking for some feedback one which one might be better to start with for a beginner?
I had always liked/wanted the Optima back in the day but hadn’t heard of Schumacher. The XLS looks pretty awesome.
Would one vs the other be better as far as getting parts?
Thanks,
Matt

Re: XLS Rerelease
Having built both, I have to give the nod to Kyosho for ease of assembly and parts fitment. The instructions are well written.
Schumacher is a great kit as well, but (as with back in the day) it is a more complex kit and a bit more fragile as well.
Honestly you should just buy both. You will thank me.

Re: XLS Rerelease
GoMachV is absolutely right, start with the Kyosho.
I have both in original vintage and re-release (Javelin) and the Schumacher is definitely for more experienced builders and racers.
Either way, 4WD buggies are a lot of fun. They offer a completely different driving experience from 2WD.
