Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Thanks! ...like so many trinkets. RC after market is 90% gimmick, 10% sound engineering.
So, is it a one-way, slipper, or centrifugal? I think this car has that odd Astro Flight motor as well (with the giant round brush holders). Just a whole lot of weirdness.

Those Astro Flight motors can be good performers if used in the right application and the proper gearing. I have a couple that have good torque and work great in my old monster trucks. They were not cheap motors. I have thought about using one in a crawler.

The turbo 05 worked very well for me. No sanctioned racing but great power.
I have a pair in a clod right now and they work great!

Picked this up a few years ago to go under a body I had. Always assumed it was an Associated RC12 of some kind, but as a shelfer it wasn't to high on my radar. My son convinced me to pull it down and give it a good cleaning and to be honest, I have no idea what it is.

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
I was hoping someone would chime in about the body. I could not figure out what it was from that angle. I kept looking at it and thinking "chevy citation?"
Sciroccos were cool bitd----sorta like a poor man's lotus esprit

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
I wondered that myself, but the holes are threaded. I guess someone could have drilled and tapped them, but it looks factory.
Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Thank you for the information on the renegade. The body is indeed a scirocco, one of 2 I bought when a member of the scirocco group I used to belong to had Bolink repop some from the original mold. The other is safely tucked away uncut and unpainted.
Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Who made the body? I use to road race an mk1 scirocco. I would love to do an Rc version.

all it takes is a tap. I've done it myself in the past, although in plastic shock caps, but not much difference

Sorting my stuff for making room. Have a bunch of different wheels but not sure for some of them which cars they go for. I think there are Tamiya, Kyosho and Losi but for which car? No idea for the #11 aluminium wheels, maybe for Yokomo?
