MIP Hot Shot diffs

Post by Saito »

Just trying to spread the word about the (hopefully) upcoming MIP diff set for the Tamiya Hot Shot series. It's in the pre-order stage and they need 250 pre-orders to start production. While I yearn for the old days when hop-ups for these cars were abundant (and Thorp made drivelines for everything), I'm impressed MIP is trying to make parts for them again. I'm pretty sure the quality and durability is probably better than the old stuff too. Folks seem happy with MIP's earlier ORV diff offering.

It will be interesting to see how many people step up since you have to hole saw out your transmission cases.

What's the demand like? We could reverse engineer the case and have the hole in it as printed so people don't have to hack up original parts...

Yeah, I noticed that. At least they give you the tool for it. I'd certainly be picking up re-release gear cases to bore out if I were installing these in an original.

I just put in my preorder on their MIP site. Hoping there’s enough to make this push through
