I think I ended up with like 80 of those. It was a long day. I think I actually got a lot of brush life I just didn't think about replacing them lol.

who doesn't love free stuff?
Yeah, I had to buy 2 more Hobbywing combos cause I didn't want to take my current setup out of the B6D. And the only other set I have is a Castle 4800 combo that'd I'd be scared to put in an older car. lol.
I've spent WAY to much damn money in the last 90days on this hobby. heh.

It was a blast. One of the best racing experiences I've had I'd say.
The track layout was awesome and led to some good racing. Even the C-mains were very competitive.

I'm excited to start seeing pictures around!
I had some bad luck in the Classic A main and Truck B main, but still had a blast, and absolutely crushed the wheelie class haha

here are all the pics I took, in the one with Dirk's back and Erich standing by the worlds smallest key lime pie, Cliff Lett is right behind the pillar. Talk about perfect bad timing to snap the pic.

I really hope I can make it to this event one year. It always looks and sounds like so much fun. And the level of competition looks just right.
Thanks for sharing the pics and vids!

It will most likely be at the same place. Erich usually posts the date around April-May. We went out for dinner after the race on Sunday and he mentioned maybe moving the date up into August because the JConcepts indoor series is there only 2 weeks after the vintage race (i assume it's held every year around the same time). Probably a lot of work for the shop to put on 2 big races within 2-3 weeks of one another. But we'll see.vintagercer wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2017 7:46 am Sooo cool!. Thanks for the pics and videos. Things were kind of tentative this year because there was talk about the CT track that had hosted the race the last 5 years or so switching to carpet, and Erich wasn't going to run a vintage offroad race on carpet. Then they ended up closing all together.

I was talking w/ Ed @ RCE about next year. He did say they wanted to bump it a few weeks one way or the other. They change the track regularly so they either wanted the race a few weeks before to run on a layout for VONATs and then change it for the JCONCEPTs race, or race the JCONCEPTS race and then change it for the VONATS. Because of the VONATs they did two major track changes in a very short time frame, and their changes are not minor but pretty significant work.
I'd prefer a few weeks later honestly. That place can be brutally hot inside and outside in late August / Early September. Early/Mid October would be nice and cool. Still capable of outdoor racing too... I'd definitely prefer using the outdoor track w/ the indoor track as a rain option.
I need to start planning/building a Classic car and a car for the heavy metal class...

I'd much rather see it in Oct than Aug. I go to a lot of car shows in Aug.

Thanks for the videos and pictures - I always look forward to those
Are there any videos of Classics and/or Heavy Metal classes?
I looked on YouTube also, but cannot find em?
