JRX2 5 link down and dirty racer

No theme, nothing fancy just a solid 5 linker built for astro turf offroad racing. I've had fancier and prettier but this one is going into sportsman class and will get used. I've got the ride height about as low as I can go 5 link which is what this track calls for. I did that with spacers inside shocks and mounting on farthest holes I can. Curious to see how my lap times are relative to a rere RC10 Worlds which I have in striking distance of A main lap times at the track.

Yes they are. I should probably change those out before I go to track now that you point it out. I have a bunch of them though.

I think you better take a different set of tires along. These look like they'll catch sideways and cause roll-overs.

Yes, I will be running the same ones I run on my rere Worlds. Basically bald Schumacher mini spikes in 2.2" for now. Or some bald original JRx2 tires in 2.0". There is so much traction I find it annoying actually, I prefer the rear end to be sliding a bit.

Cutt he outer row of pins. Apply CA glue on the outer edge. Device a stabilizer for the rear.

Sway bar on a 5 link, there is something I never have tried. Could be a fun project.

I actually just got the lunsford in the mail, so yes I will be converting, I am making it my trademark, which is why you should send me my old car so I can keep them together.

Another 2.2 inch cheap and easy wheel option for JRX2. No spacers needed in rear, only slightly shorter drive pin (Associated 7665) from RC10 GT or World ReRE and then no clearance issues at all. Front you use the small spacer to clear ball cups.

These are wheels from the my Rerelease Worlds RC10. I believe the fronts are standard B4. Width in rear is 10.0" and front 9 3/8" ish.

Part numbers rear 6085Y (Yellow) or 6805W (White). Front 9588 (White) 9688 (Yellow).

I run both my Rere RC10 and now this X2 so that's a lucky find far as I am concerned. I acknowledge they look no where as cool as the original wheels. These tires are soft Schumacher, pretty much go to set up for astro turf track here. Rear uses foams that came with, and actually no foams in front. Local hot shoes debate that one but I went no foams in front.

I've now got a few questions for you.
Have you tried it out yet? If so, how is the steering and what servo saver is that? I recently built a mid motor Jrx-Pro, and was having trouble with the steering staying fully locked on high bite surfaces while using a Kimbrough red servo saver. I don't like not running a servo saver, not because of the hurting the servo, but because of other vintage plastic parts.

Are you using the stock Jrx-2 rear axles with those Worlds rere rear wheels?

It is a kimbrough servo servo, I can't recall part number. To some degree I have the same issue as you, in other words if I compare and watch what steering is doing compared to a modern car it fights on high bite to stay locked. Fortunately track I am at is small and no real high speed sweepers so it does not matter too much at my level. Are you running a strong servo, the Savox I am running is very strong and quick which helps.

I'd say run Sabula Tech steering parts and no servo saver if you want, they are cheap and plentiful and you won't be breaking originals. Although with mid motor you may have way more front bite than I do. Overall lack of front bite is my biggest issue, I fight it on the rere RC10 on the astro turf too and I have that car tuned very well.

Yes I am running stock axles. As noted, the only difference is you need to use Associated drive pin as it is shorter.
