They are different tires. The Team B2 used the Edge in XTR (harder compound) 9877 and the B3 and I think the late B2 Sport used the softer compound replacement M2 4 Rib. They fit both wheel sets but I'm not sure of the exact inner diameter.

Re: 25 YEARS OF THE RC10 (See page 1)
I'm new to the board and just reviewed this post. First off, thanks for taking the time to make such a post. It is truly fantastic and should be made into a pdf with all the pics and whatnot. Great read.
Second, have you ever thought of cataloging all the specific part numbers through the kits and all their revisions/redesigns? Such as the bulkhead differences throughout the years? I'm talking solely about the aluminum tub/graphite cars from '84 to '96 and re-releases. Part number changes, optional parts etc?
Third, My first RC10 was a CE, and to my recollection, I got it for Christmas of '90.
It had the bottom load shocks, "A" stamp chassis, TQ-21 rears and TQ-21 fronts,.... but the 6 hole shock tower. Ever seen this?

Thank you. The cataloging would be quite an undertaking, it would be nice to have some day. I should try to get more pictures showing each parts evolution.
Your CE 6 gear is a transition car. The CE was used to get rid of outdated parts, and could be found with a mix of new and old.

Re: 25 YEARS OF THE RC10 (See page 1)
For those of you interested in such things, I have just updated the RC10 Classic Essentials app for all 3 major app stores.
Main update is on the "Evolution of the RC10" page, adding the latest iterations of the RC10 to the end, and a World Championship to the IFMAR list.
Details and screen shots: https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/115095151047789235065/+teamassociated/posts/f7QGh3drtJQ
Still free!

Unfortunately I'd be willing to bet the others will do the same. I'd look for a fair priced pay service
