RC4WD 1/18 Gelande 2
So this is what i've been up to lately. It's an ongoing build and next up is window trim and interior.
It has developed into a complete garage over time.
To add more detail to the crawler i have stripped a Universal Hobbies diecast defender 90.

Kick ass work going on there. Some outdoor scale pics will complete it.
Any thoughts on how it handles the terrain? I just might pick one up.

Pretty amazing - even stickers on the new tires.
Darn Defender, aluminum body they say - Yaps, but they all rust in that pillar
When it rained, water came running down the innerside of the passenger window
And when the wind would blow right, I even had snow in the cabin - but it´s a fantastic offroad vehicle.

Re: RC4WD 1/18 Gelande 2
Thanks romulus22,
If i got it right it's 1,6 sq ft
Thank you Diamond Dave,
Will for sure up load pics with some outdoor action eventually
I've seen some Youtube clips of it in action and seems quite bouncy. My hope is that the mini-z shocks and modified rear end will make it perform better. I might add some lead tape to the inner beadlock ring for better performance.
And then we have the undersized gearbox and motor, but we'll get to that later.
Thanks DennisM,
Yep I have studied the defender thoroughly throughout this build and well to say the least it has its flaws.
Test fitted the body this weekend. Still have mirrors, snorkel and interior to do.

I like your twin post cable lift. The shop I work at has one. Yours looks like a "Rotary" lift. Your scale shop is really cool. Lots of detail there. Nice truck also!

Hope you're doin' something fun.

Well was out the other day trying to get some decent pics of the Gelande. Not the easyest thing driving with one hand and trying to capture the hole thing whit the phone. Need to work on the angles to get it right. Its tricky with 1/18 scale. You need to get low low low.
