Nostalgic vintage at it's best. That chassis is smoooth. If you could get the Team shocks and period correct wheels, that would be epic.

What company do you use to do your anodizing? What is their pricing like? I need some shock bodies and caps done in black.

I could have sworn that I have a rere black non cut nose plate! Nice build btw, but I have trouble liking the threaded shock bodies.

Re: Scr8p's "Team Car" Rere
There were pics of the full black nose plates, but everyone I heard that had ordered one it came cut.
I stayed with the threaded shocks because that's what the worlds rere came with. Back in the day, the team and worlds cars had the same shocks so I carried it over. My goal wasn't to clone an original team car, but to build a version AE could possibly offer right now.

Great looking build, Jason! The ReRe AE should have released, along with those front arms. I agree about the anno job - it looks really sharp.

Re: Scr8p's "Team Car" Rere
OK.... so this build has gone in another direction.
Long story short, I decided to turn this car into a modern replica of Brad Reelfs' 93 Winterchamps winner. I built an exact copy of the car a few years ago. Well, I wanted one I could race. Which will be happening this weekend at the Vonats.
I started off having another chassis set ano'd in purple and swapped all of the parts over to it. Added some Lunsford and Tecna turnbuckles, worlds bellcrank, changed up some of the hardware, dyed the front shock tower black, and added the CF trans brace. The wing is supposed to be fluorescent red, but the closest thing JC Racing had was fluorescent pink. I may try dying it after the race to try and get it a little closer to an original.
As with my other modern replicas, I went with modern versions of the original electrics. A Novak Pulse for the M1c, OrangeRx receiver for Novak NER-3fm, Futaba 9451 for the s131sh, and a Reedy 17.5 S-Plus motor for the Reedy Ultra Mr. T.

Scrap you really do put lovely models together, I really like both incarnations of this buggy

Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.

Looks awesome Scr8p.
Does the battery stay put okay with just one strap?
