Building my RC10 Graphite into a modern 13.T buggy

Post by Hanibel75 »

So I have managed to sell enough of my old stuff to finance new electronics. LIpo, charger, Esc, and motor.

But I haven't raised the funds for a new car yet.

So I am going to build my Graphite into a capable race machine. :)

The before picture:

The nose of the chassis is a mess and there are multiple extra holes.

So the first step will be to clean up the chassis. Repair the nose , extra holes and scratches.
Then I will rebuild the shocks, stealth and replace the bearings.

I plan on running shorty Lipo right behind the steering servo. Thinking I might use the chassis braces and battery hold down from the B5, or just make my own.

I will keep posting updates as the build progresses

One step forward. Two steps back.

Got the front of the chassis glued up. Just need to CA the edges. Tomorrow is hole and scratch filling day

Started to tear apart the Stealth and remove the Losi Hydra Drive.

Cleaned everything up and now the bearings don't want to come out of the case. Don't want to scratch the bearings or the case.

Then I realized that in all of my parts I dont have the original slipper clutch. But thanks to this site I know which parts I need to order to run a B4 slipper.

Just have to order the parts and wait for them to come in.

Well the buggy is almost ready. Forgot to take pictures during the process so no build pics.

I added custom side rails to allow for a shorty lipo with about 3/4" adjustment front to back. Custom battery hold down using stainless steel bolts, plastic sleeves and brass thumb screws. The battery plate is made from an old RS4 Micro chassis.

The side rails and the bottom of the chassis have been sprayed with plasti-dip. Wanted something non-slip for the battery tray and just decided to try it on the chassis.

Last piece of the puzzle is a new rear bumper. I fabricated it out of a TC3 front bumper. Will post pictures when it is done.

So here are the pictures.
