Ball Studs and Turnbuckles

A few questions (that will probably lead to a couple more questions):

What is the diameter of the ball studs on the classic rc10 cars?

What size is the threads on the turnbuckles?

This seems like it should be easy information to find, but I'm having a tough time locating it.

In your guys' opinions, what are the pros and cons of using captured rod ends vs ball cup ends?

Not sure on the measurments but can check later if nobody beats me to it. Turnbuckle threads could be 4-40, 5-40 or 3mm thread which will all thread into the same plastic rod ends.

Captured rod ends don't pop off in a crash and will likely lead to some broken parts if you have a big enough crash. I don't know many people who use them but if you have a pesky ball joint that keeps popping off you could try a captured on that joint only.

On race day if you start popping a ballcup, usually it's the cup that has loosened over time from being popped or just plastic fatigue. I almost always replaced stock cups with RPM ones on the outside ends of my RC10s linkages.

One raceday fix a guy showed me was using a plastic bag (he used a ziploc) laid over the ballstud and snapping the ballcup on. Tear or cut excess plastic after. This tightened up the fit and helped me finish a main w/o popping the cup.
