RC10t from the ground up with an RC Carbon Works chassis

So after pulling out my old rc10t from 1991 I decided to rebuild that truck as a runner reusing a lot of the old parts. However I had already started grabbing parts for a rebuild so I decided to build a totally new truck!

So far this is what I have:




I'm going to add an A&L bell crank and possibly an A&L belt drive gear box. Also missing from the pic are RPM rear hubs and an RPM rear bulkhead. The RPM bulkhead is NOS and white so I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to dye it black to match everything else or not?

Need to find a NOS nose plate, titanium hinge pins (I know of the factory team 1620 kit but wasn't aware of I can piece a kit together from somewhere else like McMaster??), and a motor plate... although I think one comes with the A&L if I go that route. Also need to figure out stainless screws and front axles...

Finally I have to figure out suspension and was considering some sort of modern big bore shocks but didn't know where to start. I'm also working on some ideas for an upper, full length support as well!

I have a second set of NOS 1/4" CVDs that came today (MIP 1008) that one of the packs of lube or something busted in many years ago... they've got rust/corrosion on them so I'm not sure if I should return them and piece that kit together using the corresponding MIP part numbers or not? Not sure which numbers I'd need to do that though...

It'll be a long process but I'm hoping to have everything together as a roller by the spring? Since my other truck is for outdoor abuse I'd like to use this one on indoor surfaces for fun. I'd like to run it for all the money and effort - but don't want to abuse it either. I don't really have a started purpose other than have fun with it and build the truck that 12 year old me could only dream about

you won't find titanium hinge pins at mcmaster. you will find 1/8" titanium rod stock you can cut and groove yourself for hinge pins if you have a lathe and the right tooling (or something less and a lot of patience.)

I was going to suggest some kind of nose support, but if you are making a top deck, you could mimic the 91 rpm worlds graphite chassis setup, with the crossbar and some standoffs and tie into the rear bulkhead.

I asked when I ordered and they told me they didn't stock those... on a separate site I found a part number for the gas truck kit but have t had any luck actually sourcing them.

Iyou supply the pin measurements we can put a kit together.  Please give the measurement from inside E clip groove to inside E clip groove.

So does anyone know pin measurements inside the e-clip?

Just so I get my terminology right - the inners and others are what goes on either side of the A Arms and the king pin is what goes through the steering block vertically on the front, right?

Outer, wheel end.

Inner, suspension block end.

The numbers that start with a 6, are the same as a buggy.

So the king pin and front outer are the same as a buggy.

In my own RC10T book I rounded up the 6227 to 27mm.

Cool! I sent the measurements over to Lunsford! You're using RPM rear hubs, right? Those weren't any wider than stock were they?

They got the corrct angle 8/32 screws. i think an issue with rc screwz was the 8/32 not correct. and if knk doesnt show the set you need. then message them.

Not long after I asked I came across a few threads saying the same thing! KNK told me the rc10 kit will work on the truck!
