I found a gorgeous barely used rc10gt the other day. Motor was all goopy solid but I got it freed up. Never tried nitro before! Chassis is real nice, only minimal scratches.
Not sure what to do with her. Drive? I need a dirt track instead of just bashing in the street.
That's a solid, clean GT. Couple suggestions. If you have never messed with nitro stuff, there are several great videos on youtube regarding how to tune and maintain them. Those AE motors are pretty reliable, not fast by any means but perfect for a newcomer to nitro. Have you gone through the carb yet? If the motor was gummed up then the carb will most likely need attention.
As for the rest, I would pick up an PRM receiver box that encloses the receiver and helps keep dirt and fuel out. Next would be to get rid of that battery holder and get a proper receiver pack. A 5 cell hump pack is preferable and only runs about $15-20.
Current:RC10T, T3 FT, GT Blue Tub, GT FT, GT2 FT, GT5, RC28, SC28, Micro RS4.
and if you are looking for a dirt track oval car. check the tracks classes. i lknow out at one fo the track here, there was a 1/10th scale nitro truck class. so there are kits to make it into one.
They make great street runners too but you'll wanna change up some stuff like tires, shocks, etc first. Running the baseball/softball diamonds are fun with these too. Hard on those little motors for extended amounts of time but fun just the same
