RC 10 parts question

Post by RC Chick »

I have not been able to find a few parts I know I am going to need for my new project, does anyone know where I can find the wing wire and wing tubes? I have been able to find most of the parts elsewhere at tower and Im gonna have to pick up some rims off epay I suppose. I guess I could make the wing wire and tubes but have nothing to look at for a model. Any suggestions or hlep locating would be great.

what kind of rc10 did you get?

the wing tubes are disco'd, but you could probably pick up some k&s tubing and cut it to length. you could probably get the wire from them, too. if you need a new wing, you could get the wing kit, so the wire will come with as well as the wing mounts.

I see a wing at tower but it doesn't look like it comes with a wire. the part you are talking about does it have a part number?

You can use this for the wing wire:

As for wing tubes, you'll probably have to cut your own as Jason has said.

You know.. call me crazy but you can just MAKE this stuff too. The wing wire is just piano wire and the wing tubes are just nose tubes or round stock. You can get piano wire and round stock at any good hobby shop.

The original kits just gave you straight wire, part of the fun of building.

The really old kits didn't even use molded wing buttons:

Is that Heath, referring to Heathkit? If so, I didn't know that they were in Benton Harbor.
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.
